Tenefly’s Summer Concert Series begins Thursday, July 11th. Every Tuesday and Thursday during July and August, visitors and residents can bring lawn chairs and park blankets to set up on the beautiful grounds of two of Tenefly’s most popular parks.

Tuesday’s concerts will be held at 7 p.m. at Huyler Park. Located in downtown Tenafly next to the town’s historic railroad station, Huyler Park commonly hosts community events, including the annual Memorial Day ceremonies. This year’s Huyler Park concerts will include golden oldies from In Harmony (July 16) and Reminisce (August 20), big band music from the James Dean Orchestra (July 30) and the Jazz Lobsters (August 27), and Woodstock-era tunes from Yasgur’s Farm (August 6). The Jersey Girls (July 23) and the SaRon Crenshaw Bend (August 13) also will be playing. On rainy days, the Huyler Park concerts will be held at Clinton Inn.

Thursday’s concerts will start at 7 p.m. in Davis-Johnson Park. The beautiful, 7+-acre park features a redesigned rose garden, a greenhouse, a gazebo, a brick patio, walking paths, and landscaped flowerbeds. In addition to hosting annual community events such as the Summer Concert Series, the park is often used for wedding ceremonies. This year’s Davis-Johnson Park concerts will include Piano Virtuoso Michael Fennelly (July 11), the Alacorde Piano Trio (July 25), the Manhattan Brass Quintet (August 8), Gay Willis & Friends (July 18), and Ron Jacobowitz (August 1). On August 5, Megan Weston will sing opera soprano, and, on August 22, Mark McVey will bring the sounds of Broadway to Tenefly’s residents. On rainy days, the Davis-Johnson Park concerts will be held in the air-conditioned Garden Room.
