Within its 234 square miles, Bergen County offers residents a combination of upscale shopping, a comprehensive transportation system, proximity to Manhattan's work centers and cultural attractions, excellent educational and health-care facilities, plus beautiful parks. Located in the northeastern tip of New Jersey Bergen< County is the state's most populous county with a population of more than 884,000 residents. The seventy municipalities include affluent towns and very desirable Bergen County homes and real estate, especially in the towns of Tenafly, Teaneck, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Alpine, Cresskill, Closter, Demarest and Haworth.
Bergen County Schools - The educational system here is excellent. Each town has it own school system and many of these are leaders in developing innovation educational programs. Special programs exist for the gifted, special education, preschool and day care programs are available in most school districts. Five institutes of higher learning provide educational opportunities in Bergen County: Ramapo College, Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, Feleician College, Saint Peter's College in Englewood Cliffs and Bergen Community College in Paramus.
Tenafly homes range from old Victorians to ranches, from colonials to contemporary homes. The Tenafly Nature Center, with hiking trails and annual flowers is available to the public. It has many contrasts Englewood homes consist of elaborate Victorian mansions to modern low-rise condominiums, between quiet tree-lined residential neighborhoods and the bustling central business district, between large estates and affordable apartments. Its proximity to New York City continues to be a significant feature, but it is also a vital and distinctive character of its own, forged from richly heterogeneous backgrounds, interests and talents of its citizens.

Before you list your home for sale, take a careful look around. Are there some items you will want to take with you? There may be a dining room chandelier that has been in your family for three generations, a ceiling fan in the master bedroom, or the bookcases in the den that look built-in but are not.
Normally all fixtures are conveyed to the new owners when a house is sold. This includes anything that is attached to walls or ceilings and, in some areas, all major appliances that are installed in the house. If you have fixtures that you don't want to convey, tell your agent what you want excluded from the agreement at the time you list your property for sale.
If it is convenient, it is best to remove any light fixtures or ceiling fans you plan to take with you and replace them before the property is shown to prospective buyers. List all items that are not being sold with the house on your home fact sheet to ensure that they will not become an issue when a buyer makes an offer.
