The borough of Cresskill, a bedroom community with a large majority of residents who commute to New York City, is known for its attractive, tree-lined streets and quality municipal services. It also has plenty of small-town charm, and a strong sense of community pride. Once a quiet farming community, Cresskill has much history within its 2 square miles. Camp Merritt was built during World War 1 as a major Army Distribution site. The monument which stands tall at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Knickerbocker Road is a memorial and serves as a famous marker. Cresskill's development boom came right after World War II to accommodate returning veterans.
Parks and Recreation - Cresskill offers a municipal pool, tennis courts, summer recreation programs, five athletic fields, six playgrounds and five parks. The various sports programs include soccer, basketball, softball, wrestling, Little League, baseball and football.
The well-stocked public library is located at 53 Union Avenue.
The Public Schools in Cresskill include Edward H. Bryan on Brookside Ave, Merit Memorial at Dogwood Lane and Cresskill Junior/Senior High School located at 1 Lincoln Drive.
Houses of Worship include St. Therese's Roman Catholic Church, Reformed Church on the Hill, Northern Valley Evangelical Free Church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cresskill Congregational Church and Good Shepard Korean Church.
Convenient location, near to major highways and with direct bus service to New York makes this town very desirable. The Borough of Cresskill is special in its blend of people, Its townspeople are proud to call it home

Sellers may be reluctant to accept an offer that is contingent on the sale of another property. However, such a sale can be structured to minimize the risks.
The seller should put a limit on the amount of time that the buyers have to accept an offer, and they should keep their home on the market during that time. They should also reserve the right to require that any contingencies be met within a short period of time, ideally 24 to 48 hours, if they get a second offer. This is called a "First Right" contingency.
