Edgewater is an upscale, ethnically diverse urban community that fronts the Hudson River on Bergen County's eastern border. Once a fabulous resort area for New Yorkers and then a hardworking industrial city, the borough today is part of New Jersey's Gold Coast, with luxury high-rises lining the waterfront. New upscale shops, movie theaters and gourmet food stores have recently been built to accommodate the residents.
The Eleanor Van Gelder Elementary School is located at Undercliff Ave - 201 945-4106. Students from grades 7-12 attend the Leonia Middle School and Leonia High School.
Recreation - A full-time Recreation Director is employed. Facilities include a conservation area, 3 public playgrounds, 1 athletic field and 1 public tennis court. The Public Library is located at 49 Hudson Avenue.
Houses of Worship include Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church at 26 Edgewater Place and First Presbyterian Church at 710 Undercliff Avenue. Clubs include Senior Citizens, VFW, Republican and Democratic Clubs, PTO, Pleasant Valley Club and Scouts. |

| SENIOR SERVICES
The Edgewater Department of Public works has Bus Drivers who supply various transportation needs to the residents of Edgewater.
Weekly Senior meetings are every Wednesday. Pick up will be at 11:30 AM starting at Waterford Towers working North.
Doctor Calls
The doctor bus runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 8AM and 12 noon. All appointments are made through the Borough Hall at (201)-943-1700 ext 3130
NO APPOINTMENTS AFTER 12 NOON
The bus drivers also drive the Edgewater Shopping Bus to Pathmark.
The shopping bus runs Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 11AM until 7 PM WEATHER PERMITTING
Pick up locations are as follows:
All bus stops on the East side of River Rd, 27 Dempsey, 300 Undercliff Ave. Waterford Towers, and the trolley will stop on Undercliff Ave. between Dempsey and Archer and Undercliff Between Orchard and Rte. 5 to pick up passengers. There is no charge for the Trolley Service. PICK UP TIMES MAY VARY |

RECREATION
The Edgewater Recreation Department has a beautiful community center where year-round recreational and leisure time activities for all ages are planned and supervised by the Recreation Department. Hobby classes, open gym, athletic leagues and tournaments, and special events are among the activities offered at the community center. Just outside of the community center you can find a wonderful walking track, multi sports field, basketball courts, tennis courts, and memorial park. Please stop by and see our fabulous recreation area.

The marina office is located at the Edgewater Borough Hall.
The marina has approximately 85 slips and can accommodate boats up to 60 feet, excluding sail boats. The marina building has bathroom and shower facilities available to its members. The docks are locked at all times and equipped with a Closed Circuit TV Security System.
The boating season runs from May 1st - October 31st. Winter Storage is from November 1st - April 30th. |
