This town has a range of public and private schools that offer high quality of education from kindergarten to the 8th grade. For high school, children usually attend the Dwight Morrow High School of Englewood as part of a sending/receiving relationship.
The school has over 160 students and the ratio between students and teachers is noted to be at 14:1. Students attend this school for pre kindergarten to 2nd grade.

SOUTHEAST SENIOR CENTER
The Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL) In 1978, 11 municipalities from the Southeast region of Bergen County, New Jersey (Bogota, Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Fairview, Fort Lee, Leonia, Palisades Park, Ridgefield and Ridgefield Park), created a health project, the Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living (SESCIL), which provides preventive and maintenance health care services to seniors on an individual basis. SESCIL activities include: exercise classes, weight reduction, needlework, water coloring, bridge clubs, Virginia's Garden, music appreciation, and further education.

Flat Rock Brook Nature Center
Flat Rock Brook Nature Center is a 150-acre preserve and education center situated on the western slope of the Palisades in Englewood, New Jersey.
Flat Rock Brook could not have survived for thirty-five years without the help and support of dedicated volunteers. There are many volunteer opportunities available at the Nature Center for both adults and students. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our Adult Volunteer Form or our Student Volunteer Form and mail or fax the form back to us. You may contact our office at 201 567-1265 or email us for additional information.

Tax Considerations >Tax Breaks
Most homeowners are keenly aware of the interest tax deduction on their home loan, but there are many other tax breaks which are often overlooked at income tax time. Pro-rated property taxes and mortgage interest in the year of sale are deductible. You will find these amounts listed on your closing settlement statement. If you paid off your mortgage and had to pay a pre-payment penalty, it qualifies as tax deductible interest. If you paid an "acquisition mortgage loan fee" on a home loan, this fee can be deducted as itemized interest. Home improvement loan fees are also deductible. Any remaining loan fees from re-financed or paid-off mortgages are fully deductible at the time of the mortgage payoff.
Certain items don't qualify as deductions, but can be added to the cost basis of your home, such as transfer taxes, recording and title fees, and special local property tax assessments for new sidewalks, streets, or sewers.
Don't be intimidated by the tax code! A little research or consultation with an expert can help you maximize your real estate tax advantages.
